Positives: nearly 360 degree shade coverage lets out 180 watts (3 X 60) of softened lighting (much better than the frosted arc lamp found at a different retailer) which looks very nice aesthetically, but delivers very sharp, direct light.Easy to assemble, foot switch.Negatives: only one intensity level, but light is versatile since it is very bright but not abrasive.Paper shade is flimsy, what happens when it tears?I guess you just get another lamp.Very nice lamp, highly recommended.
