The lamp itself appears very nice, has substantial weight, and has a very nice finish.However, the switch is made out of cheap plastic and is not aligned very well with the metal piece it protrudes from.This makes it VERY difficult to turn off and on and I'm quite confident that in a very short amount of time it will wear out and stop working.In fact, in just a few minutes of me playing around with it, it failed to operate a couple of times.I fear that if I want an operable lamp I will have to buy one of those wireless sockets to plug it into so I can have a wall-mounted switch to turn it off and on (if you have a wall socket with a dedicated switch this would be just as useful.)And although this method will work (despite the extra money spent)it defeats the 3-way switch and bulb design completely.So I'm happy with the lamp in general, but the switch did not appear to be designed by the same company that made the lamp.Pretty silly if you ask me, especially when you consider that the lamp will be useless if the switch fails!
